The 3rd Annual Oncology Research Information Exchange Network (ORIEN) Scientific Retreat took place on March 3-4, 2022, hosted by M2GEN at the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, FL. This was the first time this meeting was held since the last Scientific Retreat in March 2020. Retreat attendees included ORIEN Members, ORIEN Patient Advisory Council (PAC) Members, industry partners, M2GEN Board Members and M2GEN team members. The 2-day event had 220 participants with 93 virtual attendees.
This year’s meeting had a strong focus on the collaborative research advancing across the Network in partnership with M2GEN, highlighting ORIEN Intermember Projects, Research Interest Groups, Novel Oncologic Visionary Award (NOVA) projects, and the ORIEN Clinical Trial Network. The event culminated in 18 new collaborations, and 12 investigators requesting to join ongoing Research Interest Groups (RIGs) and committees as well as 3 new recurring collaborative groups proposed to support our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiatives and an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning RIG.
ORIEN is the largest patient-consented platform for sharing multi-modal genomic and longitudinal clinical data for cancer discovery research.
